The College of Phoenix Rising is a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), an international not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Participants, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which may feature tournaments, arts exhibits, classes, workshops, dancing, feasts, archery and more.

If you’ve ever had the dream of seeing what it was like to fight in armored combat like a knight, or dance courtly dances far into the evening, or feast at great feasts with kings and barons and other nobles, or shoot Archery in competitions like Robin Hood, come check us out! There is a place for you and your family here in the Current Middle Ages.

We are a part of The Kingdom of Meridies. Our boundaries include the counties of Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburn, Etowah, Marshall and Talladega.  We welcome newcomers and the curious. Most of our gatherings are open to the public, and we love to say hi to newcomers!
